Sheffield Wednesday transfer latest: Ex-MK Dons, Millwall and Birmingham City man becomes signing number ten

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY have added to their goalkeeping options with the signing of former MK Dons custodian Connal Trueman.

The Birmingham-born keeper, 30, left the Buckinghamshire outfit at the end of last season and has become the Owls' tenth new arrival of the summer window.

Trueman has signed a one-year deal with a further 12-month option.

In 2025-26, he made seven appearances in all competitions for the Dons, who were promoted from League Two last term.

Just two arrived at league level, with Trueman largely providing cover for number one Craig MacGillivray.

Trueman will provide competition in the goalkeeping department at Wednesday, who signed vastly-experienced keeper Joe Lumley on a two-year deal earlier this month.

The Midlander initially joined MK in the 2025 winter window from Millwall, and made 13 appearances for the side after being thrust straight into the starting line-up.

Signing only a short-term deal upon his arrival, his deal was up in May 2025, but he signed fresh terms.

Trueman started his career at hometown club Birmingham City.

He spent 15 years with Blues, coming through the youth academy to make 14 first-team appearances before being released in 2022 and subsequently heading to Millwall.

During his time at St Andrew's, he had loan spells in the EFL with AFC Wimbledon, Swindon Town and Oxford United. In his time at Millwall, he also had a temporary stint at Crawley Town.
