Watch Barry Bannan's stunning 40-yard strike in Sheffield Wednesday's victory at MK Dons

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan scored one of the goals of the season as the Owls won 3-2 at MK Dons on Saturday night.

After falling out of the play-off places on Good Friday, Darren Moore's side delivered the perfect response at Stadium MK to climb back into fifth place with four games remaining.

The result will also have been cheered across South Yorkshire at Rotherham United, who stay in the automatic promotion places and ahead of MK Dons on goal difference.

Saido Berahino and Lee Gregory put the Owls 2-0 up before Bannan produced a remarkable 40-yard strike to loop the ball over Jamie Cumming in the home goal and send the away supporters wild.

Troy Parrott pulled a goal back for the home side five minutes before half time before Wednesday were given an anxious finish when Scott Twine claimed a second MK Dons goal six minutes into a scheduled 10 of added on time at the end of the second half.

The Owls travel to already-relegated Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday before a crunch clash against Wycombe Wanderers a week today.
