Billy Sharp scored a brace as Sheffield United stretched their unbeaten streak to nine games in a 3-0 success at Shrewsbury Town.

After a goalless first half, it took little under 90 seconds of the second period for Sharp to score from an attacking corner.

The lead was doubled by Daniel Lafferty shortly after the hour mark before Sharp grabbed his second of the game three minutes later.

Blades are now up to fourth place in League One following a run of seven wins in their last ten matches.

Chris Wilder’s men still have a four-point gap to leaders Scunthorpe United however moved within one-point of the automatic promotion places following Bradford City’s 1-1 draw with Southend United.
