Harrogate's first ever league outing at Valley Parade proved to be a memorable one with a goal 16 minutes from time from Lloyd Kerry giving the visitors a deserved victory on a night when they had 25 efforts on goal.

Weaver said: "I thought it was just a good performance and the feeling is good in there after a really good victory and such a good showing on a big ground and big team and some good individuals in their team.

"We started really well and carried the energy levels throughout and deserved to win."

On Harrogate's amount of chances and failure to convert until Kerry struck, he added: "It ages you when you are anxious as a manager and we were pouring forward and just needed that last bit and cutting edge to see the job through and it finally came through Lloyd Kerry, who has scored a couple now and it is great for Lloyd as a midfielder.

"We still need to improve in that final third with that last move and last ball in, final pass or delivery from out wide. But overall, I cannot complain, it was such a good performance.

"We have done well on television and helped show what we are about which is energy, honesty and commitment and a real team effort that drives us on. It is only driven on by those on the pitch.

"They really are a passionate bunch and you can see everyone is so on it and desperate to win the challenge and help each other out.

"We can also play and hopefully we are showing some good form. I am really happy and the lads have settled. Everyone is striving to keep improving and are hungry for more. The lads have not needed any respite or showed signs of any tiredness from the events of the last few months."
