The six free agent midfielders from the Championship still without a club - including former Man United, Aston Villa, Man City, Burnley and Preston players

The transfer window may have closed last week but there are still a number of players released by second-tier clubs yet to sign a contract elsewhere.

With teams unable to make transfers until the January window, some may look to the free agent market. Players can still be signed providing there is space available in their respective squads.

Free agents can prove useful to clubs who are struggling with injuries or for teams who were unable to get their desired business completed before the end of the transfer window.
