Wanderers manager Neil Lennon admitted after his side’s 3-2 loss at Hillsborough last night that he is keen to resolve the future of Davies and several other players tipped to leave the cash-strapped club - and says he has not seen Davies since Thursday.

Despite his move to the Owls now looking in doubt unless things change, Davies, 27 could still be on the move, with Fulham interested.

The Londoners are under a transfer embargo, but are still reportedly trying to manufacture deals.

Wednesday remain focused on sorting out the futures of several players already at the club, with the Owls keen on keeping striker Gary Hooper, whose loan deal is due to end after Saturday’s home derby with Leeds.

Everton are firmly in the race to sign Leeds United star Sam Byram - who was watched by Toffees senior scout Ian Atkins in last night’s game at Portman Road.

The Merseysiders are long-time admirers of the 22-year-old, likely to leave Elland Road this month.

Everton are short of right-backs, with Seamus Coleman out with a calf injury.

West Ham United are also among a clutch of clubs interested in Byram, expected to exit Leeds this month, having yet signed a new deal.

Hull City are reportedly set to test the resolve of Dundee United chairman Stephen Thompson by slapping in a £1m bid for Blair Spittal.

The midfielder has caught the eye of manager Steve Bruce and his scouts have given him rave reports – despite the current woes at Tannadice.

The Tigers’ chief is now set to follow through with a bid for the 20-year-old, confident he has found another gem to match Scotland full-back Andy Robertson.

Middlesbrough are closing in on the signing of Spanish striker Kike Sola - as they aim to bolster their striking options.

Boro have been monitoring the 29-year-old Athletic Bilbao frontman for some time and he is expected to join on loan for the rest of the season.

He is contracted to Athletic Bilbao and was due to play for the Basque club tonight but was pulled out of the fixture against Villarreal ahead of kick-off.

Sola joined Bilbao from Osasuna in the summer of 2013 but has recently struggled for opportunities.

Bradford City are thought to be close to extending highly-rated defender Reece Burke’s loan spell for the rest of the season - after securing the services of Wolves midfielder Lee Evans and Preston winger Kyel Reid until May.

Sheffield United midfielder Dean Hammond is set to remain at Bramall Lane.

Blades boss Nigel Adkins has confirmed Hammond’s parent club Leicester City have indicated the former Southampton captain will be allowed to renew his loan when it expires later this month.
