BARNSLEY manager Danny Wilson has urged his Reds side to avoid underestimating the underdog ahead of tomorrow’s cup clash with League Cup outfit Burton Albion.

Fresh from the Reds’ fine derby win at Sheffield United, thanks to Sam Winnall’s header, the boot is now firmly on the other foot for Wilson’s men, who were second favourites heading into the Bramall Lane fixture.

Now they are favourites for tomorrow’s first-round FA Cup tie with high-flying Burton, who will be fancying their chances of creating a shock at Oakwell.

Wilson, who would not divulge whether he has received permission from several clubs whether he can field his quota of loan players tomorrow, said: “We have a very tough game and Burton will be feeling exactly the same; get through it and who knows what can happen after that.

“There’s the finances and the prestige of going as far as you possibly can in the cup.

“It is about attitude and it will have to be spot-on because we know Burton’s will be.

“It is a bit of a role reversal from when we played at Bramall Lane when we were the underdogs. At the weekend, we will be the favourites and will have to live up to that tag.

“It is all about application and attitude.”
