Wolves v Rotherham United: Happy camp enables Millers to enjoy run

For 21-year-old midfielder Ward – on loan from the White Hart Lane club – is part of a Millers team who are unbeaten in their last 10 games under Neil Warnock.

Granted, there is no silverware on the horizon at Rotherham, but they looked relegation fodder just a few short months ago.

Now, they head to Molineux today knowing their Championship safety is all but secured.

“We just want to carry on the run until the end of the season and whatever happens elsewhere is going to happen,” said Ward. “We just want to win the games that we’ve got.

“We’ve gone 10 games unbeaten now so everyone is confident. It’s a good camp to be a part of at the minute and everyone is happy.

“We’ve had a bit of an up and down season overall so it will be nice to end it on a high if we can secure our position in the Championship.”

Warnock’s future is uncertain beyond the summer, but the manager is already involved in planning for the future.

He arrived in February on a short-term deal, to engineer Rotherham’s revival, and plans further talks with chairman Tony Stewart regarding his future.

“I’ve had a couple of meetings with the chairman, talking about the training ground etcetera,” said Warnock. “I think he appreciates that I want to help, whatever the situation is next year.

“In management, you have to look to next season. You have to plan and be looking at players. The only thing is, I thought I’d be looking at holiday resorts and fishing areas.

“I didn’t think I’d be looking at players. I’m a little bit behind, but I am catching up!”
