York City reunited Scott Burgess and Adam Crookes with former manager John Askey
Scott Burgess and Adam Crookes have been reunited with York City manager John Askey after being released by promoted Grimsby Town.
For 24-year-old central midfielder Burgess, it is a return to the club he played on loan for in 2019. At the end of that season, Askey signed him for Port Vale.
As Grimsby won promotion back to the Football League, York replaced them in the Conference, having also won their play-off final.
