Sheffield United slipped to a disappointing 2-1 at Notts County.

On-loan Connor Coady netted after just two minutes to give the Blades an early lead, only for goals from Showunmi (26) and Fotheringham (68) to leave them empty-handed.

The Blades sit just a point above the bottom four in League One.

In League Two, York City won 2-0 at bottom side Northampton Town thanks to goals from Ryan Bowman and Wes Fletcher.

In the Championship, 500 Barnsley fans had a wasted trip to London as their match at Charlton Athletic was called off after a 1pm pitch inspection.
