York City 0 Hartlepool United 0: Minstermen in stalemate

York City were held 0-0 by Hartlepool United at Bootham Crescent in League Two.

Left-back Ben Davies continued, having extended his loan spell from Preston North End until January.

But neither side were able to break the deadlock.

York should have took the lead when Tom Allan beat goalkeeper Scott Flinders, only to see his header scrambled off the line by Neil Austin.

Andy Monkhouse went close for the visitors late on but Chris Smith was on hand to clear his header off the line, while Steve Howard had a penalty appeal denied.
