Verdict: We slightly over-achieved. The first half of the season was generally poor, with the odd exception. But the manager shored up the defence in January and we never looked back after that.

Best player: Keith Lowe.

Biggest disappointment: Craig Clay.

Best moment: The first half at home to Scunthorpe was superb.

Lowest moment: Losing Josh Carson and Wes Fletcher for the season at Portsmouth. We missed them in the play-offs.

Where this season has gone right/wrong: As soon as Nigel Worthington sorted out our long-standing inability to deal with crosses into our box, the season took an upturn.

Advice to manager: Move Heaven and Earth to get Nick Pope for next season.

Best opposition team: Chesterfield.

was the season a success or failure: Without doubt, a success.
