York City v Oxford United: Wilcox tells Minstermen to look to the future as they aim to break home duck

The Minstermen are the only club in the Football League yet to win at home in any competition this season after Leyton Orient broke their duck in midweek to beat Northampton Town in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
“It is 10 games without a win at home,” said Wilcox, whose side – if they beat AFC Wimbledon in Tuesday’s FA Cup replay – will face four consecutive away games after hosting Oxford today.

“We should really have won last weekend. We had enough chances to win two games, never mind one. If we can beat Oxford it would be a great way to head into what we hope are four games on the road.”
Oxford’s troubles this term are a continuation of how the U’s tailed off last term to be pipped to a play-off place by York.
Wilcox, who this week lost loanee Deon Burton to a medial ligament injury sustained against Wimbleon last Saturday, added: “It is incredible to think how things tailed off.

“They haven’t started this season too well and, hopefully, we can continue that.”
