He may have missed out on the BBC Sports Personality of the Year prize, but Kevin Sinfield is still able to celebrate after clinching scooping The Yorkshire Post Sports Hero of 2015 award.

The Leeds Rhinos legend, now playing for Yorkshire Carnegie, was an overwhelming winner of our readers’ poll, grabbing 73 per cent of the vote.

Yorkshire and England star Joe Root came in second, with Leeds snooker player David Grace in third.
