YLCGA’s Challenge Bowl semi-final line-up at Doncaster GC

FOUR different clubs will be represented in the YLCGA Challenge Bowl semi-finals at Doncaster GC on Thursday.

The home club’s Karen Winfield will face Moortown’s Judy Owens in the first of the matches.

In the second, Karen Wilkinson (Wheatley) will play Otley’s Patricia Harrison.

Winfield put out semi-final opponent Owens’s club-mate Bev Burrows in the quarter-finals, winning 5&4.

Owens won by a slightly larger margin, also finishing on the 14th green against Sarah Arrowsmith (Woodsome Hall) but she won the hole to progress 6&4.

Wilkinson, by contrast, had to go to an extra hole before getting the better of Brough’s Gillian Johnson.

Her semi-final opponent Harrison also had a tight match, beating Hallowes namesake Lynn one up.
