Yorkshire golf: Calverley win final battle against keen rivals Woodhall Hills

CALVERLEY, finalists four times in the last six years, have won the Yorkshire Ladies County Golf Association’s ADP title.

The ADP – Alternative Day Player – event is for women who work during the week and play their competitive golf at the weekend.

Sunday’s semi-finals were held at Mid Yorkshire GC where Calverley were joined in the last four by Hallamshire, Woodhall Hills and Cottingham Park.

In the morning’s semi-finals, Calverley and Woodhall Hills both recorded 2-1 victories against their respective opponents.

The finalists are keen rivals, their clubs situated only a few hundred yards away from each other on the Leeds-Bradford border.

After three very competitive matches, Calverley came out on top 2-1 against Woodhall Hills.

Hallamshire were the top qualifiers.
