Both ran with great credit in two of the most competitive races of the week.

Instant Attraction was beaten just over three lengths in the Royal Hunt Cup, with Shared Equity a five-length 10th in the Wokingham.

“Both ran really well, it is just ultra-competitive down there,” said Middleham-based O’Keeffe. “Shared Equity didn’t have a great draw, while Instant Attraction was only beaten three lengths.

“There a race at York in mid-July for Instant Attraction, but we’re also looking at the big Goodwood handicap (Betfred Mile) and he’ll also have an entry at Galway.

“Shared Equity will be aimed at races like the Stewards’ Cup and Ayr Gold Cup, with his rating the races pick themselves, but we’ll hope to find some other opportunities.

“You need luck in those sprints, but hopefully one day it will all drop right. He’ll be going to York in October for the race he won last year, I’d have thought.”

O’Keeffe’s fellow trainer James Bethell is expecting a decent show from Chiringuita in the ebfstallions.com “Eternal” Fillies’ Stakes at Carlisle today following her recent comeback run.

The filly goes for Listed honours after blowing away the cobwebs at Chelmsford three weeks ago. Today’s rivals include the unbeaten Eternally from John Gosden’s stable.

Rachel Richardson appears to have escaped serious injury following a nasty incident at Beverley.

The apprentice was riding the pace-setting Kung Hei Fat Choy when her mount crashed through the rail just under three furlongs from home.

The horse, trained by Malton’s Lucy Egerton, suffered a fatal injury, while Richardson had stitches to a wound on her face.
