Morley 29 Middlesbrough 8: Bradshaw's try double puts the title within Morley's grasp

Simon Bradshaw picked up 19 points as Morley avenged one of three defeats and took another giant stride towards winning the title.

They only have to avoid defeat in their final game of the season against bottom club West Hartlepool and even if a shock defeat should happen, second-placed Stockport face a difficult match against third-placed Penrith.

Bradshaw, who, along with brother Karl, has come through the ranks at Morley since the Under-8 side, ran in two tries and kicked three conversions and a penalty to take him to 297 points for the season, the division's highest scorer.

His first contribution was to add the conversion to the 18th-minute try of Danny Chamberlain to put Morley in front after the visitors had taken an early lead with a penalty.

Karl Bradshaw went over four minutes later and Simon added a penalty to give his side a 15-3 lead at the break.

Morley continued to dominate the second half and Simon Bradshaw struck either side of Middlesbrough's solitary try to round off their home campaign with a result that as good as clinched promotion for the Maroons.
