Towers, 27, enjoyed a fantastic 2014 and will be one of the star attractions as the York college hosts a new event and the first of two 2015 trials sponsored by Equi-Trek.

Askham Bryan will also host a second event in October – by which time Towers hopes she will be firmly established at CCI three-star level after embarking on CIC three-star adventures last year with Simply Clover.

Ten-year-old mare Simply Clover will begin her campaign next weekend at Oasby with Towers taking eight-year-old mare Simply Smart and seven-year-old gelding Ash to Askham Bryan this weekend where there are events from BE80 to BE100 level.

A whole host of promising Yorkshire riders feature, including Chloe Bell, Storm Straker and Sara Bowe and Towers admits that she expects competition to be tough.

“I believe the Askham Bryan event is new and it will be my first time there,” Towers told The Yorkshire Post.

“The ponies and I are all very excited to get out and play.

“The aim is to have a nice introductory round – a rosette would be a bonus.”

Over the weekend, Askham Bryan will run a number of different classes, including a brand new BE80 class, for which a course has been built this year, in addition to BE90 and BE100 level competition.

In addition to the new BE80 class this time around, the college is also adding a novice class for their October event.

Philip Grant, organiser of the college’s Horse Trials, said: “We are delighted to have Equi-Trek as our headline sponsors for our March horse trials.

“We look forward to working with them on what is now established as a quality event on the northern circuit.”
