The game was effectively over as a contest after the first leg on Tuesday night saw Nottingham thrash Paul Thompson’s team 8-0 at Ice Sheffield.

Last night in the second leg at the National Ice Arena in Nottingham, the Panthers were more restrained, their two goals coming in the second period from Andy Bohmbach (24.14) and former Steelers’ forward Chris Lawrence (26.32).

Steelers, who have never won the competition in the Elite League era, return to league action this Saturday when they host Dundee Stars.
