Ponds Forge to stage World Championship snooker qualifiers

The qualifiers for this year's Betfred World Championship will be held at Sheffield's Ponds Forge International Sports Centre.

It’s the third successive year the qualifiers will be staged at Ponds Forge, running from April 6-13.

All players seeded outside the top 16 will battle for one of 16 coveted spots in the final stages at the nearby Crucible Theatre.

Among those competing could be crowd favourite Jimmy White, former champions Ken Doherty and Peter Ebdon, up-and-coming talents such as Leeds cueman Oliver Lines and current Ladies World Champion Ng On Yee.

The cut-off point to determine the top 16 seeds falls on April 4th after the China Open. All other players will need to win three matches to earn a place at the Crucible for snooker’s biggest tournament.
