It may have been their only score of the half but in the opening stages of the second half they used their considerable power, strength and determination to cross the line a further four times in 19 minutes but failed to touch down successfully.

Hide AdThey broke the pattern when Steve Scott sliced through for their only try of the half. In between Fryston’s touchdowns Batley used their superior pace, cunning and deceptive play to rattle up nine tries and then add a further three touchdowns in the dying minutes including Gareth Moore’s hat-trick try and two from Jason Walton and Dave Manning.
