BATLEY BULLDOGS can shock visitors Toulouse Olympique today (3pm), coach Matt Diskin believes, if they are given a fair crack.

Batley led Betfred Championship leaders Toronto Wolfpack 12-6 at half-time last Sunday before going down to a 26-18 defeat.

Diskin was proud of the performance his team put in, but felt the way the game was refereed aided the visitors and he is hoping to avoid a repeat of that this afternoon against second-placed Toulouse.

“We were starved of possession in the first 20-25 minutes after half-time, but other than that we were really in the game,” Diskin said.

“We were gutted about the result, but we are taking a lot of confidence from it because we dominated for parts of the game.

“If we can deliver that consistently, we will be there or thereabouts.

“If we have a fair crack at it and both sets of players are allowed to compete for the outcome of the game, we will be in with a chance.”

Batley will be without winger Wayne Reittie who suffered a dislocated shoulder against Toronto.

Patch Walker is doubtful due to a nerve problem in his back, but Izaac Farrell is available after passing a head test and Shaun Ainscough comes into contention.

“We have got quality replacing quality,” Diskin said.
