Bulls board confident over RFL’s approval

Leeds-based administrator David Wilson has accepted an offer from Bradford Bulls 2014 Ltd, who took initial control of the West Yorkshire club after its former holding company, OK Bulls Ltd, entered administration last month.

Representatives of Bradford Bulls 2014 Ltd, including chairman Mark Moore, financial director Andrew Calvert, managing director Ian Watt and Hunter-Paul, are to now seek ratification and approval from the sport’s governing body.

They will present business plans and strategies to the RFL next week, outlining the future direction of the former champions.

Bradford Bulls 2014 Ltd secured a 28-day First Utility Super League licence following last month’s announcement concerning OK Bulls Ltd.

The month-long period allowed time for other interested parties to table offers for the ownership of the club including London-based businessman Richard Lamb while Bradford City also made enquiries without firming anything up.

But Bradford Bulls 2014 Ltd has been deemed the strongest and Hunter-Paul said: “We are now approaching the final stages in the change of ownership of Bradford Bulls.

“The RFL’s board of directors must now take a view on our offer, our plans for the future and the way in which we intend to work with creditors going forward.

“There are right and proper protocols to follow and a due process which is still to take place.

“But we are extremely confident that we will receive ratification in the near future, handing us the right to operate in the sport’s top flight.”

Bradford, who should also find out next week how many points they will be deducted for entering administration, picked up their first win with a hard-fought 23-10 success at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on Thursday night.

Hunter-Paul added: “It was great to see the boys pull off such a vital victory; they gave it everything and got what they deserved.”
