The 31-year-old will re-join Tigers for a second spell, having been Castleford’s leading try scorer in 2008 when he notched 19 tries in 26 appearances.

He returned from Cas at the end of that season to London, the club he originally signed for when he left Sydney Roosters in 2004.

Dorn - who has scored 124 tries in 200 Super League appearances - said: “I absolutely loved my time at Cas and I’m very, very excited about coming back.

“Had circumstances been a little bit different at the time I think I probably wouldn’t have left.

“I really can’t wait to come back and my family are looking forward to getting back up there - it’s very exciting for us.

“I really loved the whole environment at Castleford last time. Personally I had a decent year and although we didn’t as a team results-wise, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

“The fans were brilliant and the boys were great so it’s somewhere I have really fond memories of and I’m looking forward to rekindling that.”

He added: “I loved playing at Cas, it brought out something in my game that was pretty unique. Even when I’ve gone back to the Jungle in previous years I’ve been quite successful for London.

“I’m really looking forward to putting the jumper on again and scoring my first try at the Wheldon Road End. I have scored a few tries down that end that are very memorable for me and hopefully I can build on that and get a few more.”

Dorn is looking forward to playing under boss Daryl Powell and linking up with former teammate Danny Orr, now Tigers’ assistant-coach.

“I’m very excited about working with Daryl - I’ve heard nothing but great reports from all manners of different people involved in rugby league,” he said.

“To work with Daryl and Danny Orr, who I know very well, is very exciting. They’ve turned a lot of good results this year and that’s with a limited amount of preparation time on their behalf, so with a pre-season under their belt I’m looking forward to what we can get done.”

Of the quailities he will add to the side, Dorn said: “I bring a lot of experience, I bring my knowledge of the game and my enthusiasm for success.

“My experience is something that will be beneficial. I’ve been coaching with the under-19s at London for the last four years so my experience with dealing with those guys is good.

“The quality of young players playing at Cas at the moment is brilliant. To have some older guys there that can have a bit of a leadership role with them on and off the field is only a good thing.”

Tigers coach, Daryl Powell said: “Luke is a player I have admired for a long time.

“His ability to play at half-back or full-back is massive and his leadership qualities and experience make him a key recruit for us next season.

“I look forward to working with a quality individual who I know will drive our standards.”
