Dewsbury Rams 24 Doncaster 10: Play-off hopes kept alive by resolute Rams

GLENN MORRISON’S hopes of securing Dewsbury a second-tier play-off spot for the first time in 13 years remain intact after beating Doncaster last night.

Doncaster opened the scoring on 12 minutes through Danny Cowling, but were pegged back as Brad Watkinson pounced for the Rams.

Leading 6-4, Dewsbury added to their advantage with tries courtesy of Kane Bentley and Tommy Gallagher before the break.

Despite being reduced to 11 men as Keiran Hyde and Karl Pryce were sin-binned along with Doncaster’s Cowling, the Rams extended their lead through James Craven. Dennis Tuffour hit back for the visitors 12 minutes from time, after Dale Morton tagged on a penalty goal.

But Glenn Morrison’s side held firm, denying Doncaster a bonus point, while moving themselves up into sixth spot.
