Former Super League star Frankie Mariano has left Featherstone Rovers.

The club say he has been allowed to leave to seek “playing opportunities elsewhere” after not featuring for Rovers since March.

Mariano, who has also played for Hull KR, joined Rovers at the start of last season and made 21 appearances in 2017.

He has played seven times this year, scoring two tries.

A Rovers statement said: “Featherstone Rovers officials would like to take this opportunity to thank Mariano for his efforts and wish him well for the future.”
