Halifax 76 Lock Lane 6: Life is a breeze for Halifax in Lock Lane rout

HALIFAX breezed past Castleford amateurs Lock Lane into the fourth round in a predictable rout at the Shay.

The home side scored twice in the first six minutes, through centre Dylan Nash and wing Rob Worrincy, and had piled up a 38-6 advantage by the interval.

Full back Miles Greenwood (2), second row Stephen Bannister, hooker Sean Penkywicz all touched down, with Worrincy adding a second.

The biggest cheer of the afternoon was reserved for Lock Lane wing Adam Garlick, who scored his side’s only try after 13 minutes, second row Craig Hardy converting.

After that, Halifax piled on the points with half backs Graham Holroyd and Danny Jones, Bannister, wing Paul White (2) and Bob Beswick scoring further tries. Jones with 10 conversions.
