Huddersfield were due to host Castleford Tigers at John Smith's Stadium but that game was cancelled this morning after Castleford reported 12 positive Covid tests.

Similarly, Warrington were down to play Salford Red Devils at the Totally Wicked Stadium but Salford today forfeited the game, not due to the pandemic but because they say they are down to 13 fit players.

Under competition rules governing forfeited fixtures, that meant Warrington were awarded a 24-0 victory.

The matter has been referred to the RFL’s Compliance Department for further consideration but, in the meantime, Super League has worked to fill the void by pitting Huddersfield against Steve Price's men for the televised fixture.

The clubs were due to meet in Round 21 but that has now been brought forward.
