Hunslet 50 Gateshead 6: Hawks brush aside Gateshead

Hunslet led after 10 minutes when John Oakes offloaded the ball to Gavin Duffy, David March adding the goal.

Hunslet doubled their advantage when James Duckworth sprinted home, leaving March another easy kick.

Smart passing by Danny Maun and Duffy sent Jimmy Watson in for another converted try before March converted his own try.

Paul Stamp put Gateshead’s first points on the board with a 43rd-minute try, Matty Beharrel converting, but the visitors were asleep when Liam Hood dashed 30 metres to the line, direct from a play-the-ball and March again added the goal.

Duffy, Watson and Hood collected their second tries and Richard Moore joined in the romp, March improving Watson’s touchdown and Danny Ansell converting Hood’s effort. Gateshead finished with 11 men after sin-binnings for Joe Hodgson and Jordan Meades.
