Keighley 54 Barrow 28: Cougars avoid Super League side after blitz

Keighley are through to the fifth round of the Challenge Cup after a stellar attacking display saw them knock out Barrow.

Cougars scored 10 tries on their way to victory and will now face a visit to fellow Championship outfit Swinton in the next round.

Keighley started strongly as Cougars player/coach Paul March produced a one-handed offload to send in Richie Barnett. Danny Jones kicked the conversion.

The Cumbrians hit-back with two tries for Dalton Grant and Liam Campbell, Mort adding the extras.

Before the game turned in Keighley’s favour. Paul Handforth put through Danny Lawton for the try, before his kick found Paul White who crossed. Jones converted for a four-point lead.

Handforth and March then combined to send in Craven at the corner. Mort kicked a penalty goal to cut the deficit to a converted try at the break.

Scott Law went in for the opening try of the second half with Jones converting.

Andrew Dawson replied for Raiders, with Ryan Shaw adding the two but they were quickly blown away shortly after.

March found a way through the line and Brendan Rawlins and Ross Peltier both crashed over. Both the latter two efforts were goaled.

Campbell replied with his second before tries from Sean Hesketh and Richie Barnett.

Grant crossed for a further consolation try.
