Leeds Rhinos lose Lachie Miller to lengthy ban as Hull FC forward Yusuf Aydin learns disciplinary fate

Leeds Rhinos have been dealt a major blow after losing Lachie Miller to a three-match ban.

The Australian full-back has been charged with grade E 'unnecessary contact with player who is injured or may be injured' following an incident with Oliver Partington in Leeds' defeat at Wigan Warriors.

Miller – the early frontrunner for the Man of Steel award thanks to an eye-catching start to the season – will sit out Friday's home clash with Huddersfield Giants, as well as games against St Helens and Toulouse Olympique after the Challenge Cup break.

The disciplinary outcome compounds Leeds' disappointment in the wake of a result that knocked them off top spot in Super League.

Meanwhile, Hull FC forward Yusuf Aydin has been hit with a huge six-game suspension following his red card in the defeat at Bradford Bulls.

Aydin was given his marching orders for a dangerous spear tackle on Bradford full-back Caleb Aekins, resulting in a grade F charge.

Castleford Tigers back-rower George Hirst will sit out two games after receiving a grade D head contact charge, while Huddersfield centre Taane Milne has been handed a one-match ban for grade B striking.
