Leeds Rhinos suffer major blow ahead of Magic Weekend date with Warrington Wolves

Brodie Croft will miss Saturday's game against Warrington Wolves in a major blow to Leeds Rhinos' play-off chances.

The influential half-back was conspicuous by his absence when Leeds named their 21-man squad at lunchtime, with the club revealing he is unavailable for the Magic Weekend clash on compassionate grounds.

Only five Super League players have more assists than Croft this season, while the Australian has also scored six tries himself.

Jack Sinfield, who has featured just three times in 2024, is Croft's likely replacement.

Winger Ash Handley is back in contention after missing last week's shock win over Wigan Warriors with a hand injury, while captain Cameron Smith is available following a one-game ban.

Leeds head into the Elland Road clash with Warrington four points adrift of the play-off positions with six rounds remaining.

Rhinos 21-man squad: Miller, Fusitu'a, Newman, Momirovski, Handley, Frawley, Ackers, Bentley, Martin, Smith, O'Connor, Lisone, McDonnell, Sangare, Goudemand, Sinfield, Donaldson, Johnson, Edgell, Nicholson-Watton, Littlewood.
