Luke Robinson praises Huddersfield Giants staff after Covid-19 scare

Hide Ad“Normally you pick your side three days before and have a settled team. We’re very fortunate that lads involved in the Covid situation were lads in the non-squad; the 17 I put out was the 17 I picked.
“But we didn’t have an 18th or 19th man so if anyone went down in the warm-up we’d have been playing with 16!
“Everyone here, from Andy Kelly to our Covid officer, have all been great and been ultra cautious. It’s only right.”
Robinson’s side were 18-0 up at half-time but were pegged back to 26-18 at one point and he said: “We have to find a better way of starting second halves; a lot of it is mind-set.”

Hide AdRovers coach Tony Smith said: “I didn’t think Giants were dominant in the first half. They just executed better. But we regrouped and showed what we are about in the second period.”
