Ryan Carr defends Castleford Tigers' effort after Hull KR rout
Ryan Carr defended Castleford Tigers' effort and application in the 50-6 defeat by Hull KR, insisting basic errors were their downfall.
The Tigers, who fielded four debutants in Tyler Dupree, Phoenix Laulu-Togaga'e, Tom Nicholson-Watton and Brad Dwyer, conceded a half-century of points for the second week running at Craven Park.
However, Carr saw an improvement in his side's intent against Rovers.
"It's hard to explain to people who aren't in our room but I felt compared to what I was so disappointed with last week, we actually did physically go after them, which pleased me," he said.
"What let us down were some really fundamental, poor errors. But six tries on fifth tackle, against a really good opposition who hardly made an error, we actually went after our tackling.
"There were two tries where we caught the ball, we dropped it and they put their hand on it. When you look at it from my perspective, I took a lot out of it – but one thing I will say is we don't accept it."
The Robins ran in nine tries in a sixth straight win, Tom Davies leading the way with a hat-trick.
Although Krystian Mapapalangi denied his side a shutout in the dying seconds, Willie Peters enjoyed their work without the ball.

"I'm most pleased with defending our tryline for a large part of that second half," said the KR head coach. "That's close to our best performance of the year.
"For us, our defence sets up our attack. We know if we build enough pressure and put fatigue in the opposition, we've got players to be able to score points.
"If the players keep having the attitude to defend their line and the level of care they had to defend their line then we'll be hard to beat and we'll keep improving.”
