Ryan Carr tells Castleford Tigers to bottle up 'really powerful' feeling
Ryan Carr has urged his Castleford Tigers players to bottle up the feeling of grinding out a win after edging York Knights 24-18.
The Tigers were staring down the barrel of a third straight defeat at the break, only to overturn the 18-12 deficit thanks to a gritty second-half showing.
Castleford were up against it late on when George Hirst was sin-binned but held firm to leapfrog the Knights in the Super League table.
"I'm pleased for my team and our fans," said Carr.
"We had a massive turnout here, which is really pleasing after what's been a tough couple of weeks. That support goes to show how loyal our fans are. We gave them a brave and committed performance.
"I know what we've got in this club and this group. We need to keep pushing the self-belief individually and collectively.
"That was a win based on effort, which pleases me a lot. Getting through moments of adversity and feeling what it's like to get the result on the back of it is really powerful."
York have won three games since their promotion to Super League but this was another one that got away.

Mark Applegarth bemoaned his side's inability to nail the big moments.
"It's just about that discipline and composure," said the Knights boss. "Until we fix that we're going to be on the end of some scorelines like that.
"I'm not questioning our character and toughness; we've just got to get those smarts about what we do. We've got to learn to stop making life hard for ourselves.
“We knew there would be some decent highs this season as well as some stinging lows - and this was one of the lows.
"But we won't buckle. We're a pretty tight group and will make sure we learn the lessons together."
