Salford Red Devils 18 Hull Kingston Rovers 32 - Challenge Cup offers salvation for Tim Sheens

The Robins deservedly trailed 16-6 early in the second half but they sparked into life, scoring three converted tries in 12 minutes to lead 24-18 as the home side crumbled.
Quickfire tries from Josh Drinkwater, Junior Vaivai and Danny Addy – all converted by Ryan Shaw – turned the tie on its head after Salford had looked in complete control.

Hide AdSheens, a former Salford coach, said he had always faith in his players to turn things around after a disappointing start to the game, and four defeats in a row.
“There is some rivalry between the clubs so to say I’m happy is an understatement,” said Sheens.
“We didn’t get any opportunities in the first half or the field position punished us. We completed better in the second half.”
When asked about Hull KR’s Wembley chances, Sheens joked: “I haven’t got a tie or a suit.
“It has been a tough four weeks but the Challenge Cup is a prestigious competition.”
