Skirlaugh 16 Gloucs 26: All Golds edge out Skirlaugh

HULL amateurs Skirlaugh pushed Gloucestershire All Golds hard but could not force a place into today’s Tetley’s Challenge Cup fourth-round draw.

The National Conference side scored three tries through Thomas Saltmer, Dave Fletcher and Alex Foster to remain competitive against the fledgling Championship One club yesterday.

Ex-Hull KR scrum-half Matty Brooks added two kicks but his side just did not have enough wherewithal to push on.

All Golds included 45-year-old Brad Hepi, the Kiwi who played for Hull FC back in 1998 and then Castleford Tigers among others, and they earned a win which will do much for their profile.

James Gahan (2), Callum Mulkeen (2) and Richard Jones were their try-scorers, Matthew Bradley kicking three goals.
