Thackeray hat-trick secures Rams win

ANTHONY THACKERAY crossed for a hat-trick as Dewsbury Rams hit the half-century to beat Workington in their elimination play-off tie.

The game started in a scrappy fashion but in the eighth minute Thackeray broke the deadlock. A chip from Tom Hemingway was collected by Thackeray who rounded the full-back to score. Hemingway improved.

Makali Aizue was returning for the hosts after a spell out injured and he made his presence felt with a huge tackle on Greg Burke. The incident was put on report and Burke left the field with a heavy concussion.
