Travelling York enjoy ‘home’ advantage

The Knights opened the scoring with Jonny Presley and Greg Minikin’s quick hands seeing winger Nev Morrison touch down.

Josh Tonks crashed through the Skolars defence on the 40-metre line and with Jordan Howden on his shoulder unselfishly released the half-back to score.

Further tries from Knights’ Ryan Mallinder and Howden provoked a quality response from London. Scrum-half Marcus Elliott’s reverse kick was read superbly by James Anthony and the full-back touched down for Marcus Elliott to convert.

But on the stroke of half-time Jack Pickles looked to have touched down although he conceded after the game he had lost the ball and Jack Aldous should be credited with the try.

London conceded a further three tries within the first 20-minutes of the second period as Minikin finished off another quick-hands movement, Josh Tonks crashed over from Harry Carter’s pass and Liam Cunningham burst the defence.

However with Jermaine Coleman, outstanding at half-back, demonstrating true passion Skolars won many plaudits during the last 20-minutes with Joe Price’s try their only tangible reward.
