VIDEO: Wakefield Wildcats '˜not too far away', says Jacob Miller

ONE win will lead to others, half-back Jacob Miller has predicted ahead of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats' trip to Hull KR on Sunday.

Wildcats have lost their opening two games, 24-16 against Widnes Vikings and 40-6 at Castleford Tigers last weekend, but Miller feels they are one victory away from going on a good run.

Sunday’s fixture has been brought forward from First Utility Super League round 11, when Rovers and Wildcats will both be in Ladbrokes Challenge Cup action.

Hull KR drew with Castleford in their opening game before a loss at Warrington Wolves last Sunday and Miller is confident it is a match Wakefield are capable of winning.

“Hopefully the first win will come this weekend, but it’s not going to be easy,” Miller said.

“Hull KR are a good team, especially at home.

“They have got some great players there, but we will be doing our best to, hopefully, get our first win.

“I think once we get one it will put some confidence back in us and hopefully we can get a couple after that.”

Miller believes Wildcats’ new-look side are making progress, despite their opening two results.

He added: “Even though we were beaten pretty convincingly last weekend, in a weird way I didn’t think we were too far away.

“At half-time it was 18-6, but if you look at what we did with the ball and the way we defended when they put five or six sets on us in a row, it feels like it is just there.”
