Blackman joins Leeds on a season-long loan from Stamford Bridge and trained at Thorp Arch this morning after passing a medical over the weekend.

The terms of Blackman’s move to United were finalised on Thursday and the 24-year-old is preparing to play for 45 minutes in the club’s first pre-season friendly at Forest Green Rovers tomorrow night.

His arrival follows another exit from Elland Road after striker Marcus Antonsson secured a return to Sweden by completing a permanent move to Uwe Rosler’s Malmo.

The striker turned down an offer from Italian club Brescia, owned by ex-Leeds chairman Massimo Cellino, to go back to his homeland two years after coming to United from Kalmar.

Hull City are being linked with a move for Chelsea defender Todd Kane, with the possibility of bringing him to the KCOM on a free transfer a growing possibility

If successful with their talks, it would add to the summer captures of David Milinkovic, Reece Burke and Jordy de Wijs by Nigel Adkins.

The Tigers are also being linked with SK Sturm Graz’s 19-year-old midfielder Philipp Sittsam, who would initially be brought in to develop his game with the club’s Under-23s before any thought of throwing him into first-team action would be cosidered.

Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis says he won’t be rushed into summer signings for the sake of it, but admits at least one new striker is a priority.

“Sometimes you have to wait a little bit and see what happens,” Pulis told reporters, with Burnley’s Sam Vokes and Ipswich’s Martyn Waghorn both having been heavily linked with Boro in recent days.
