YORKSHIRE clubs continue to be linked with a host of players in the transfer market. Here is the latest from the rumour mill:

Out-of-contract Strasbourg striker Stephane Bahoken is wanted by Barnsley but the Reds face competition from Aston Villa and Udinese and several French clubs.

Hibs continue to show interest in Barnsley midfielder Stevie Mallan, 22, who was linked with a move to Easter Road last summer, before making a £250,000 move to Oakwell.

Hull City are chasing £1m-rated PAOK defender Dimitrios Chatziisaias, who has been on loan at Greek top-flight club Atromitos Athens this season.

Leeds United face competition from Steven Gerrard’s Rangers for Swansea City’s Kyle Bartley but a reported £28,000 weekly salary could deter both clubs.

Gerrard is also said to be interested in Sheffield Wednesday’s Jordan Rhodes, 28, who has scored 95 goals at Championship level in 207 appearances, though his career has stalled in the last two seasons following big-money moves to Middlesbrough and the Owls.

The Boro have joined Leeds and Stoke City in showing interest in highly-rated AFC Flyde midfielder Serhat Tasdemir, 17.

Middlesbrough could also bring in Jon Walters, whom Tony Pulis signed him for Stoke eight years ago.

Walters, 34, made just five appearances in all competitions for Burnley last season and Sean Dyche has agreed to allow the experienced forward to move.

Managerless Bradford City have signed former Manchester United defender and former Sheffield United loanee Joe Riley, 21, on a two-year deal.

Grant McCann, 38, is now the bookmakers’ favourite to become the next manager at Valley Parade, though former Brentford, Rangers and Nottingham Forest chief Mark Warburton is also in the running.
