Huddersfield’s St George’s Square has undergone the temporary transformation as part of the county’s welcome for this weekend’s Tour de France Grand Depart.

M Hinault, himself an award-winning farmer, was impressed by the mock-up, La Vengeance Des Semis, which is tended by 26 farmers, 24 hours a day.

It features sheep, chickens, pigs and a cow as well as 1,500 sunflowers, 1,700 lettuces and 700kg of vegetables.

The farm will remain in place until Friday.
