Wigan 42 Hull KR 18: Rovers' season over

WIGAN bounced back from their heartbreaking Engage Super League play-off defeat by Leeds to end Hull KR's season and move to within 80 minutes of their first Grand Final for seven years.

Two tries from winger Darrell Goulding enabled the Warriors to turn around an early 14-12 deficit and establish a winning platform by half-time in tonight's elimination semi-final at the DW Stadium.

The record-breaking Pat Richards also got over the line for his 32nd try of the season and, in immaculate kicking display, succeeded with all seven attempts at goal - five days after crucially missing three in that 27-26 defeat by the Rhinos.

The Warriors, forced into sudden-death football a week earlier than expected following last Sunday's defeat, did the double over Hull KR in the regular season but this was no foregone conclusion.
