Yorkshire golf: Harry Mowl points Crow Nest Park GC towards Halifax-Huddersfield junior team title
Mowl was well supported by James Edwards (78) and Louie Walsh (88) as Crow Nest Park finished nine shots clear of runners-up Huddersfield GC (Benjamin Walker, 79; RD Bownas, 85; Kaylem Billy, 92).
Consolation for Walker saw him lift the prize for the best net score with an excellent 64 and he placed third in the gross individual section behind Mowl and Edwards.

Hide AdHuddersfield also had to be content with second spot in the net team category, victory going to Halifax Bradley Hall thanks to Sheldon Mcfadzean (85-20-65), Thomas Pratt (90-20-70) and Joe Lowson (82-4-78) after the sides tied on 135.
Crow Nest Park will go forward to play in the county qualifying competition for the EGU Junior Champion Club tournament.
Huddersfield GC's Sue Johnson Bowl was won with an excellent total of 86pts by Nigel Myers, David Ramsbottom, Jackie Elam and Graham Harrison.
But it was only good enough to gave them victory by a single point from runners-up Richard Bates, 2015 captain Nick Ledgard, John Pasicznyk and Marcus Headley, who edged Martine Lunn, Maxine Rowlands, Paul Green and Eric Lord into third on count back.

Hide AdThe winners gave themselves superb early momentum with seven points garnered at the first hole, including four for a net eagle from Harrison.
They also had six-pointers at holes five and six through Myers and Harrison on the way to accruing an outstanding 48pts on the outward nine.
They slowed a little on the back nine, carding 38, with Myers and Harrison providing another six points together at the 15th.
Elam and Ramsbottom bolstered the round throughout and contributed five birdies between them.

Hide AdBirley Wood GC's first major event of the season saw the men's section of the Jubilee competition won by David Kean with an impressive gross 74 net 60.
Elizabeth Allender enjoyed victory in the Allan Williams Trophy, taking just 3hrs 25mins to play her winning round, while Jake Charlesworth, the club's youngest member, hoisted the Junior Jubilee Trophy.
