Yorkshire golf: Tour player Chris Hanson secures Bradley Hall triumph

Hanson teamed up with The Yorkshire Post's golf writer Chris Stratford (20), a member of Huddersfield GC, and together they carded a score of 44pts to win the pro-am.

They finished two points ahead of joint second-placed Nigel Hirst and five-handicapper Carl Smallpage (Dewsbury), and West End's Adam Cryer and Andy Cryer (10).

Hanson and Stratford combined well to total eight birdies, the latter's all net contributions, and did not drop a shot.

Mark Campbell (8) and Nick Day (8), of Crow Nest Park, edged the am-am with 42pts ahead of seven pairs on 41.

In second place on a back-six countback were Outlane's Gary Atkin (10) and Paul Reynolds and third were Jake Smith (14) and Michael Illingworth (13) of Outlane and Crosland Heath respectively.

The recent dry spell had left Bradley Hall in good condition with just a few wet areas and the greens were firm and quite true. It was cold and overcast, with light winds, but no rain.

The next Alliance is the Ron Parkinson Trophy at Todmorden GC on Tuesday, April 5.
