Yorkshire pair run Ravenscroft hard for title

Bradford teenager Billy Harding (Paul Milnes-Bradford Olympic RC) finished the National Trophy Series strongly as he rode to victory to take second place overall in the standings.

Among the riders behind Harding were fellow Yorkshireman Jake Womersley (Sportscover Altura RT) who could only finish fourth.

The overall title went to Jack Ravenscroft, of Solihull CC.

Keighley’s Ian Taylor missed out on the veteran 40 category crown after coming second in the final race in Derby.

The 40-year-old Craven Energy rider has had it all his own way in the Yorkshire Points Series this season but in the Trophy he has come up against stern opposition in the form of Darren Atkins.

Joeri Hofman of Belgium won the senior race with Ian Field taking second place. Third place for Oli Beckingsale was enough for him to be declared the champion overall.
