The inside lane of the roundabout remained closed while the clean-up was organised by Yorkshire Water and Highways.

A spokesperson for Yorkshire Water told The Yorkshire Post they are “unsure at this time” what caused the water main to burst.

They added: “Teams are on site to continue the clean up work and Yorkshire Water is working closely with Highways and will reopen the inside lane as soon as remaining surface water has been removed and it is safe to do so.”

Just after 4pm Bradford Council said: “Chain Bar Roundabout has now reopened with an inside lane closure.”
