To no surprise of anyone in attendance, Sundara Karma's introduction at Leeds Wardrobe on Sunday evening was met with crowd euphoria.

‘A Young Understanding’, released just a couple of weeks ago, was a great choice to really get the crowd going, setting the tone for the mosh pits and chaos that would follow.

A graduation to The Wardrobe from their Oporto gig back in October last year saw both the crowd grow in capacity and the band seem even more polished, which paved the way for an excellent set from the group.

The band also treated the crowd to new material in the form of the infectious ‘Olympia’, ‘Lose the Feeling’ and ‘She Said’, ahead of their album release “sometime this year”, and yet again, they were well-received by the rowdy Leeds crowd, which, by that time, had turned into one of the most rowdiest crowds I had experienced in recent years.

‘Flame’, the band’s catchiest and most popular track, was a slightly mellower affair than anticipated but was still the highlight of the night.

Leaving stage for moment, the band returned to end their set. First in their encore was, ‘The Night’ a slightly slower track in the bands repertoire but was still received with the same energy as the crowd had given all evening. Lastly, the track everyone had been waiting for, ‘Loveblood’, a personal favourite which appeared to everyone else’s as well, with the first few rows clambering on stage to be a part of the action, with just one security guard and an angry promoter to fight off a swarm of enthusiastic teenagers, it certainly left everyone eager for Live At Leeds and Leeds Festival later in the year.

Support came from Pale Waves and Beach Baby, who also got a warm welcome from The Wardrobe crowd on Sunday evening.
